Heliocentris and Schunk have signed a Cooperation and Distribution Agreement
Berlin. Heliocentris Fuel Cells AG, a leading system integrator for fuel cells, and Schunk Bahn- und Industrietechnik GmbH, a company in the globally active Schunk Group, have signed a Cooperation and Distribution Agreement to market fuel cell stacks and systems worldwide.
Heliocentris develops products and system solutions for training, research and industrial purposes on the basis of Schunk´s fuel cell technology, and intends to manufacture these in serial production.
The modular model range of these fuel cell stacks grants Heliocentris scalability in a power range from 360 watts to 1.4 kilowatts. This allows Heliocentris to react flexibly to customer requirements.
Since the Schunk stacks are water-cooled fuel cell stacks Heliocentris can offer customers systems which use the waste heat which accumulates in the fuel cell in addition to generating electricity. In this way, Heliocentris is tapping into new fields of application above and beyond its current product range.
Dr. Colell, CEO of Heliocentris Fuel Cells AG, comments: "We are happy to have found another strong partner with experience in serial production in Schunk. This agreement will enable us to expand our system platform range considerably."
A spokesperson for Schunk adds: "The core expertise of Schunk Bahn- und Industrietechnik GmbH lies in the development and serial production of stack components, drawing on the company´s many years of experience in material development. With Heliocentris as its partner, Schunk will gain global access among others to research and development facilities in the field of fuel cell applications. This will create synergies for both partners in the dynamically developing fuel cell market."
