Heliocentris - A Systems Integrator
The actual core of any fuel cell “system” is the fuel cell stack, but on its own it is not capable of delivering electrical energy. In order to output the desired level of energy, a fuel cell stack must be integrated with many auxiliary components such as air supply, valves or cooling systems and must receive a significant amount of systems design.
The operating control is provided by a controller - together with the power electronics it provides the functionality of the system for the respective application.
Only the perfect connection of all the components and functions makes a fuel cell ready for use in a specific application. In our role as systems integrator, Heliocentris functions as the interface between component suppliers, such as stack manufacturers and system users. Ensuring that the fuel cell system and subsystems function seamlessly together while fitting into a larger project design is a core strength of Heliocentris.

We Minimize Your Risk on Your Transition from Lab to Mass Production
Heliocentris supports you from the initial system idea to the introduction into mass production. We have developed a 3-Phase Strategy in order to minimize development risk and maximize opportunities:
- Phase 1 - Development of a test and demonstration system based on pre-qualified standard components. Keeps costs low and allows you to become familiar with fuel cell application systems design.
- Phase 2 – Refine system design and complete development. Production of a small test batch for application testing - all in accordance with the relevant codes and security standards.
- Phase 3 - After a successful testing phase we work with you to transfer the system into mass production. Full support is provided to you for market introduction: technical support, setting up the service or conducting introductory workshops for your clients.
In collaboration with our industry partners such as Ballard Power Systems and Schunk we provide cutting edge technology for fuel cell systems, as well as solutions for hydrogen generation and storage.

Fuel Cell System Platform (Air Cooled)

Based on the cost optimized fuel cell stack Mk1020 ACS™ of our partner Ballard Power Systems, Heliocentris offers you a flexible system integration platform.
Are you looking for a prototype or a customized mass producible system solution?
Convince yourself of the Heliocentris competence: Our fuel cell system platforms allow flexible packaging and can be adapted to different climate conditions. The hydrogen supply connections or the electrical interfaces will be adapted to your special application needs.
We offer standard modules with power levels of 350 W and 1200 W. If you wish, we are also able to offer you other power level platforms up to 2 kW output.
Areas of application: Drive systems (e.g., light weight vehicles) as well as stationary power supplies (e.g., UPS, autonomous power supplies) and APU (e.g., boats) without use of waste heat.
Fuel Cell System Program (Water Cooled)
Power 360 – 1440 W
With the system program, based on the modular fuel cell stack of our partner, Schunk, you can optimally adapt the system output to your needs from 360 W to 1.4 kW. If space is limited with your application, the compact and robust design of the fuel cells is just right for you.
We provide appropriate system periphery so that you succeed in commissioning your stack easily and reliably. Thus, you receive a flexible fuel cell system which makes both the development work in the laboratory as well as the design of prototypes significantly easier for you.

Hydrogen Generation and Storage
Fuel cell systems need hydrogen. Accordingly, we have solutions for the generation, storage and supply of hydrogen.Hydrogen generators of various power classes and compressed gas cylinders are available as hydrogen sources. Frequently, intermediate storage of hydrogen is necessary. We offer metal hydride storage canisters with various capacities for this requirement. For the connection of your fuel cell system to the hydrogen supply we offer pre-qualified standard components or customized solutions.more
