Very easy integration

All components can be connected by means of a small number of transparent interfaces. The modular design allows flexible adaptation of the system to the available space.

The extensive documentation leaves no questions about the integration of the system.

Flexible due to hybridization option

The power output of the Constructor system is suitable for diverse applications. The power range can easily be expanded with battery hybridization, for flexible adaptation to the requirements of the application.

Time-tested system featuring top quality

Hundreds of these system solutions are already in use around the world. The solid operating behavior of its fuel cell and the integrated microcontroller ensure safe and reliable operation.

Components

50 W fuel cell stack

Designed for hydrogen-air operation the fuel cell stack includes 10 fuel cells generating 50 W maximum power output at 5 V DC. An integrated fan supplies the stack with oxygen and cools the system.

Controller board

The controller board ensures control and operation of the stack and protects the system from overloads and short circuits. An integrated RS232 interface enables visualization and processing of operating parameters via the included software.

Accessories

Hybrid extension kit

This supplementary set enables the design of a fuel cell hybrid system. The DC converter contains an integrated charge controller for 12 V lead batteries. Therefore, it is also possible to operate 12 V consumers independent of the output of the fuel cell.

H2 leak detection set

A hydrogen sensor for monitoring the workplace and testing for leaks, in addition to a special leak test liquid ensure maximum safety during use of the system.

H2 flow meter

The hydrogen flow meter enables the exact measurement of the current hydrogen consumption. The data connection is established via the controller board. The measured values can be displayed via the included software.

Software

The operation of the Constructor fuel cell system can be monitored and controlled with the included software. It enables the visualization and measurement of different essential system parameters:

  • Stack voltage (V)
  • Stack current (A)
  • Stack temperature (°C)
  • Fuel flow (ml/min)
  • Fan power (%)

Hydrogen Supply

H2 Metal hydride canisters

The low-pressure metal hydride canister allows for safe and easy intermediate storage of hydrogen in compact form.  An integrated quick coupling ensures the safe connecting and disconnecting. Available in three sizes: 60, 250, 760 Nl.

H2 connection kit

The pressure reducer securely connects a metal hydride canister to the Constructor fuel cell system. The canister pressure, which is dependent on state of charge and temperature, is reduced to the required constant pressure.

Areas of Application

The robust and reliable components are ideal for constructing RC-cars within a school competition or universitarian projects. Easy to install and to operate, the system provides the perfect basis for gaining practical experience in fuel cell technology.
