Hy-Tech-Challenge.08

The worldwide first competition for hydrogen powered RC cars the Hy-Tech-Challenge.08 in Frankfurt was an activity of the H2BZ Initiative Hessen (Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Initiative Hesse) and H2 in Praxis, a project of the initiator ConActivity KG, Frankfurt. Under the patronage of Dr. Annette Schavan (Federal Minister of Education and Research) and supported by Dr. Alois Rhiel (Hesses Minister of Economy, Transport and Regional Development) and the HA Hessen Agentur, the competition was held 20 September 2008 at the Automechanika, the international leading trade fair for the automotive industry.

The participants concentrated on a technology that enables a climate neutral mobility. The challenge was to develop and build a car driven by a fuel cell and to run it along a course as fast as possible using a given amount of hydrogen. Energy efficiency and speed were the crucial elements!

With the motto "... mobile with hydrogen" the Hy-Tech-Challenge.08 had an important impact on the promotion of young researchers in the field of alternative energies and drive systems. Heliocentris being the technology partner - almost every team used the 50 W Constructor Kit - enjoyed working together with students, trainees and organizers.
