The fuel cell stack in the HP600 is water cooled. The system has a closed cooling circuit. Therefore, it allows extremely diverse capabilities for experiments that analyze the combined generation of electricity and heat. From the thermal economy of the fuel cell to the energy balance of the overall system, the principles of power and heat co-generation can be illustrated in hands-on instruction.

The IT interface of the system and special analysis software enable computer-supported measuring of the most important system parameters. Temperatures, volume flow rates, voltage, current and power output can be visualized transparently and presented to a larger audience using a beamer.

Included in the package
The product is mounted firmly on a wall panel and is available optionally with or without electronic load.
- Fuel Cell System Unit: 600 W PEM fuel cell with water cooling circuit and water/air heat exchanger. The hydrogen flow is controlled by a flow meter and is recycled through the fuel cell. The system is controlled and parameterized via a microcontroller.
- Hydrogen Connection Set: Pressure reducer for compressed gas cylinders and hydrogen sensor and set for leak detection to ensure safe operation of the system.
- Power Electronics Unit. DC converter and load regulator including start and back-up battery for supply of 12 V consumers and DC/AC converter for supply of 110V/220V AC consumers.
- Documentation and Software: Detailed instruction manual and data recording software for visualization of numerous system parameters such as temperatures, volume flows, current, voltage and output.
Optional:
- DC Electronic Load: Enables controlled loads to the fuel cell system. Programmable in constant current, power or resistance mode. Integration in the software.
