Ayad Abul-Ella

CEO, Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG

Ayad Abul-Ella (born 1969) is Chief Executive Officer of Heliocentris. After studying Industrial Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and later Strategy and Marketing at the Babson College in Boston, he joined Siemens AG, Fiber Optic Modules as the strategic Purchasing Manager for ICs, LEDs, PINs, PCBs and manufacturing services to shortly after start the business with Fiber Optic IC’s.

In 1999 Mr. Abul-Ella joined Infineon Technologies in Munich to start a technology project for 10Ghz ICs in standard CMOS Technology for Telecom and Datacom Networks that developed at the end of 2000 into the Business Unit Advanced Networking ICs. From then onwards Mr. Abul-Ella has been responsible as the General Manager & Vice President for various businesses at Infineon Technologies and later Qimonda AG. Among others he ramped the business with networking IC’s from zero to more than 60 Engineers and successful market entry within 18 months, restructured the Fiber Optics business and managed the growth of the Consumer & Mobile Memory Business from less than USD 100 Mio. to more than USD 500 Mio. in revenue.

Before joining Heliocentris Mr. Abul-Ella has been working at AMD in Texas and California as an interim manager responsible for the Corporate Strategy and company wide Efficiency Improvement projects.

 

Dr. András Gosztonyi

CFO, Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG

András Gosztonyi (born 1969) is Chief Financial Officer of Heliocentris. Dr Gosztonyi's background is mainly in the Corporate Finance and consulting.

Dr. Gosztonyi studied economic geography and business administration at the Free University of Berlin, Wilfrid Laurier University (Canada) and University of Berkeley (US). He has obtained a diploma as well as a Masters degree. Concurrently Dr. Gosztonyi made his PH.D. at the Free University of Berlin in parallel to working in various consulting companies.

From 1996-1998 Dr. Gosztonyi worked for Kolpron Consultants as well as the Management Consulting Group doing feasibility studies on large scale developments such as high tech parks, industry parks etc.

Between 1998 and 2002 Dr. Gosztonyi worked for bmp AG, structuring corporate finance and M&A deals and being responsible for a Venture Capital portfolio of up to 15 companies.

Between 2002 and 2003 Dr. Gosztonyi worked for Roland Berger Consultants, doing projects in the M&A and restructuring field. Between 2003 and 2006 Dr. Gosztonyi worked on an independent basis on various international consulting projects mainly in the fields of restructuring, growth management and corporate finance.

2006 Dr. Gosztonyi joined Heliocentris as CFO, carried out the listing of the company at the Entry Standard in Frankfurt and since then has been responsible mainly for finance and sales.

 

Dr. Henrik Colell

CTO, Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG

Henrik Colell (born 1963) is one of the founders of Heliocentris. As one of the pioneers in the fuel cell sector, he has comprehensive knowledge of the sector, a high international degree of recognition and an excellent network with the essential decision-makers.

He studied chemistry, physics and mathematics at the Free University of Berlin where he has obtained his diploma degree in 1990. From 1991-1994 he was a research scientist at the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Germany developing new materials for solar energy conversion and catalysts for hydrogen production and fuel cells. Based on his research work he obtained his Phd in physical chemistry in 1996.

In 1995 Henrik Colell founded Heliocentris as a spin-off and has been active as CEO in various functions including business development, product management and product development since August 2011.

From 2004 to 2008 he has also been the President of the North American subsidiary (Heliocentris Energy Systems Inc.) and has significantly driven forward the expansion of the North American business. From May 2011 on he also serves as Managing Director of P21 GmbH which became a subsidiary company of Heliocentris. Since its foundation in 1995 Heliocentris grew to a company of 90 employees.

Since September 2011 Henrik Colell is the CTO of the Heliocentris Group responsible among others for the product and solution development of Heliocentris.
