Autonomous Energy Supply Solution

Large scale hybrid energy supply solution implemented for Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO).

Heliocentris provided a fully integrated hybrid energy system with a central monitoring and control unit and a public display. The system can handle inputs from a 4 kWp photovoltaic array, a 1.7 kWp wind generator as well as the public grid and stores energy in a battery bank and through the generation of hydrogen. The hydrogen is converted into electricity by means of a 1.2 kW PEM fuel cell power module. The system with a total output of 5 kW powers lighting and equipment of a laboratory in a park.

The system was installed in Awali Park, a recreational and educational community project developed by BAPCO.

The objective is to increase public awareness of the use of renewable energies.
